Apricorn, Inc. announced the enhancement of its SATA Wire Notebook Hard Drive Upgrade Kit with USB 3.0 interface.

The new connection allows for cloning speeds up to 10X faster than with traditional USB 2.0. Priced at $29 and bundled with Apricorn’s EZ Gig Cloning Software, the upgrade kit provides a USB 3.0 connection to ay 2.5" SATA notebook hard drive or SSD, providing a way to upgrade your notebook’s performance and capacity.

Apricorn’s EZ Gig Cloning software with Data Select enables you to deselect your documents, video, photos and music collection from the clone, allowing you to copy just your OS, settings, applications and email to the new drive. Once the upgrade is complete, simply use the SATA Wire to connect to the original drive to access your media files.
 
Upgrade Your notebook hard Drive in 3 steps
Once you have connected your new SSD or HDD to the SATA Wire and a USB port on your notebook, run Apricorn’s EZ Gig Cloning Software. The wizard asks you to select your Source and Destination drive, click ‘Start Clone’ and EZ Gig takes care of the rest. Once the clone is complete, swap out your notebook drive and you’re done.

In addition to upgrading your notebook hard drive, Apricorn’s SATA Wire is the IT tool for transferring or accessing data on bare drives or for creating a bootable emergency backup of your system.
