Start-Up Cache IQ With NAS Acceleration Solution
Identifies active data sets stored in DRAM and SSD cache .
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 20, 2011 at 3:02 pmCache IQ, Inc. announced the limited release of their RapidCache solution.
This intelligent, high-performance NAS caching appliance delivers enhanced performance to I/O intensive applications while relieving overburdened storage subsystems. RapidCache identifies applications’ active data sets, and then uses a combination of DRAM and SSDs to dramatically improve performance.
"Cache IQ’s new approach will please enterprise NAS storage managers," says George Crump of Storage Switzerland, an industry analyst. "Finally, an all-in-one caching solution that doesn’t require an upgrade of your current NAS systems. RapidCache actually makes existing storage work faster and smarter. The cache is now the performance tier responsible for data delivery."
Unlike other NAS accelerators, RapidCache provides an approach to NAS caching by using simple policies to control what data gets cached-guaranteeing the best performance for the most important applications.
RapidCache also delivers insight into storage through RapidView, its integrated analytics and visualization product. By providing complete visibility, RapidView enables administrators to assess network storage performance and troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
RapidCache installs in the network-requiring no changes to clients, applications or storage-and accelerates performance to multiple backend subsystems regardless of vendor.
"We are excited to be working with leading enterprise storage teams to showcase our solution. With RapidCache, enterprises no longer have to buy capacity just to get performance," said Greg Dahl, Executive Vice President, Products and Strategy of Cache IQ. "Instead of blindly caching data or attempting to tier storage, RapidCache maximizes existing storage investments. We provide complete usage visibility, speed up your applications by caching the most critical data, and automatically troubleshooting bottlenecks."
Cache IQ will showcase RapidCache at Storage Networking World on October 10-13 in Orlando, FL.
