Bright Technologies Launching Data Optimizer

Bright Technologies, Inc., developer of technology for shared media, is launching Data Optimizer, a defragmentation tool designed specifically for the media and entertainment industry, at IBC 2011 booth.

Based on the data optimizer subset previously available only as an option with Bright’s BrightDrive media file server, the new stand-alone Data Optimizer includes features to improve the efficiency of any shared media post-production environment operating on Quantum StorNextFS or Rorke HyperFS.
 
Data Optimizer overcomes the challenges that arise as a result of normal post-production processes when file systems become fragmented or randomized. Using sequence-aware, multi-threaded intelligence, Data Optimizer quickly restores optimal data or file arrangements by optimizing its layout on the disks, creating large contiguous portions of files. Data Optimizer has been developed using Bright’s media file handling knowledge-base, and is optimized for FC workflows.
