iQstor Networks, Inc., manufacturer and provider of data storage solutions for government, education and business, has announced its its performing disk array, the iQ-XL.

The iQ-XL offers speed of data transfer for HD content.

This 16-bay disk array features:

With its eight – 8Gb FC ports, the iQ-XL is the perfect solution for digital media workgroups. The iQ-XL includes eight gigabytes of cache, supports SAS and NL-SAS drives and utilizing JBOD expansion can scale up to 720TB when fully expanded.

The speed of data transfer is made possible by an embedded Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor on each of the two active/active controllers. The iQ-XL is designed with enhanced Active Streaming Technology, eliminating dropped frames while delivering stable performance.

Zarou explains the benefit of the internal architecture of the iQ-XL: "As the world moves into the new digital HD-content era driven by films and the Internet, traditional systems are not designed to store and retrieve the large, unstructured data files that are typical of high definition content. The iQ-XL is MAID 2.0-compliant for energy efficient operation. To meet database requirements, the iQ-XL delivers 500,000 IOPS.
