This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 14, 2011 at 2:48 pmValhalla Partners announced that Farah Giga, formerly strategy and business development manager at Hewlett Packard, joined the firm as a principal.
At Valhalla, Giga will focus on investments in next-generation infrastructure.
At HP, Giga played a number of product and strategy roles. Her most notable accomplishment was leading the integration of 3PAR, which was, at $2.4 billion, the largest transaction in the history of HP Storage. Before HP, she served in a variety of roles at Hitachi Data Systems, including software development, technical marketing, solutions architecture and product launches such as the launch of their signature, high-end storage array.
"We are very happy about adding Farah to the Valhalla team", said Charles Curran, Valhalla general partner. "In addition to her acumen, technical depth, and energy, her experience working for large acquirers in the storage industry will be an indispensable asset to Valhalla going forward. We believe strongly in creating companies where we know in advance that they are solving problems for these businesses, because they are frequently buyers of the companies that we build."
"I’m very much looking forward to joining the Valhalla team," said Giga. "Their strong reputation in storage and other data-center technologies is well-known in the industry, and makes it possible for us to find and back the best deals."
Giga received a Masters in Management Science and Engineering and a Masters in Communication from Stanford University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Honors from Stanford University.
