(DDN) announced that Keshet Broadcasting, a television program maker licensed in Israel and operator of Channel 2 (Israel’s main commercial television channel), has selected and deployed a video archive and infrastructure solution from DDN to accelerate its Avid-based post-production workflows.
Keshet editors using Avid Media Composer are delivering programming content faster than before thanks to over 100 terabytes of DDN’s streaming-optimized xStreamScaler file storage system.
As part of their substantial increase in production bandwidth and storage capacity, Keshet integrated multiple Windows-based video editors into a scalable hybrid SAN/NAS xSTREAMScaler file system for real-time performance, scalability, and to enable concurrent editing and collaboration with more editing rooms working in parallel than ever before. In addition, the company is leveraging DDN storage to pull news content from the field into its broadcast facilities.
"The performance benefits of our DDN solution have enabled Keshet Broadcasting to deliver programming more quickly to our audience and the productivity gains we’ve enjoyed provide a considerably lower total cost of ownership than our previous solution," said Shalom Lachiany, Post Production Manager, Keshet Broadcasting. "Thanks to DDN, we are now able to scale our production operations as our programming and production business evolves and as video continues to increase in definition."
DDN’s xSTREAMScaler shared file-system provides a shared networked storage solution capable of ingesting, processing and archiving all online and near-line media content from a single system. Powered by DDN’s modular, intelligent storage platforms, the xSTREAMScaler shared storage platform is capable of delivering parallel, real-time streaming performance for content-intensive media applications.
"With hundreds of professional media deployments worldwide, DDN streaming and editing solutions are built from the ground up with a unique understanding of the challenges faced by organizations such as Keshet Broadcasting," said Paul Bloch, President and co-founder of DataDirect Networks. "We are pleased to work with Keshet and to enable improvements in their performance and studio efficiency."
