IBM Storwize V7000 With More HDD Offering

300GB 15,000rpm and 1TB 7,200rpm SFF

IBM Storwize V7000 offers two new drive types to expand its line of 2.5-inch SFF drive options:

  • 300 GB 15000 RPM SAS 2.5-inch disk drive
  • 1 TB 7200 RPM Nearline (NL) SAS 2.5-inch disk drive

With the introduction of the new 2.5 inch SFF SAS and Nearline SAS disk drives, the IBM Storwize V7000 provides more configuration choices and different performance characteristics to increase the ability to consolidate workloads into a single storage system for greater efficiency.

Equipped with 300 GB 2.5 inch 15K RPM drives, capacity can now be doubled for performance workloads with up to 30% greater throughput over 2.5 inch 10K RPM drives. The 1 TB option allows consolidation of storage on the Storwize V7000 models with 24 SFF bays. Both drives can intermix in the same Storwize V7000 Control or Expansion enclosure with each other, and the other drive options currently available.

Key prerequisites

  • Specific options for IBM Storwize V7000 must be ordered during the initial plant order for the IBM Storwize V7000 system.
