Liquidware Labs Joins NetApp Partner Alliance Program
To provide VDI architecture, planning, and design solutions
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 15, 2011 at 3:42 pmLiquidware Labs, in desktop transformation solutions for virtual desktops, including VMware View and Citrix XenDesktop, announced an alliance partnership with NetApp that will provide partners and customers with tailored Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) architecture, planning, and design solutions.
Working closely with NetApp, Liquidware Labs has developed a set of custom reports and designed new data output engines that encapsulate NetApp best practices, VDI storage design, and capacity planning. The proper sizing and design of VDI storage infrastructure is critical to desktop and application virtualization success and performance, and can lower the capital costs of such projects.
Based on an in-depth and granular assessment of the existing desktop work patterns and resource loads, administrators can now see and understand the impact of those workloads on the planned VDI design. In addition, the assessment data can be used in the NetApp VDI Storage Sizing configurator to deliver tailored storage based on real-world usage and load patterns.
"Proper storage sizing is critical to virtual desktop infrastructure design and successful deployment," said Patrick Rogers, vice president, Corporate Alliances at NetApp. "By integrating NetApp with Liquidware Labs Stratusphere, customers benefit from powerful metrics to help determine storage sizing and efficiencies in any Windows environment to allow our mutual customers to gain the flexibility and cost savings that virtual desktop infrastructure enables."
Francis Czekalski, Senior Enterprise Consultant for Green Pages, which is a joint partner of Liquidware Labs and NetApp, said: "We are excited that both companies have come together to provide a best-in-class storage sizing solution for our existing and future customers. Right sizing storage for VDI is a major milestone for successful deployments."
Tyler Rohrer, founder of Liquidware Labs, added: "Customers and partners around the world look to NetApp for reliable and scalable storage solutions, and we are thrilled to see this partnership and these market offerings come to fruition. This partnership with NetApp made a tremendous amount of sense as it delivers solutions to the market that enable desktop transformation success. Because desktop transformation and virtualization can be complex, this partnership simplifies and automates many of the storage design considerations, allowing customers to properly design and optimize storage utilization – which leads to higher density, lower costs, and optimal end-user experience."
