This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 10, 2011 at 3:17 pmAppAssure Software, Inc. announced continued momentum with record revenue and staff expansions as organizations replace their traditional backup and recovery systems with AppAssure’s software solution.
Year-over year results for the quarter marked revenue growth of 179%, hitting the company’s 17th consecutive quarter of quarter-over-quarter revenue growth and adding more than 1,500 new customers.
"With Symantec’s Backup Exec, it took days or weeks to recover a single application server, but with AppAssure’s Replay we can do the same recovery in minutes," says Dave Buzzell, Chief Information Officer at The Sedona Group – a $120 million workforce management firm in Moline, IL. "Our IT environment is constantly changing, and only Replay 4 has been able to keep up with it. Replay’s continuous backup and bare metal restore ability makes everything go really smoothly. It’s saved us almost $100,000 in operational and infrastructure costs, in addition to countless hours of management time savings."
"We’re excited to see such innovation in a technology area that’s been largely underserved for a very long time," said Adam Davis, President of Next Dimension, an AppAssure reseller with offices in the US and Canada. "Minimizing mission critical data loss and recovering from system failures or other disasters is extremely important to our customers. AppAssure clearly understands and respects this sensitivity as is evident by their product’s unique ability to recovery in minutes with no more than a few minutes of potential data loss."
In addition to revenue growth, Q2 2011 marked
additional milestones for AppAssure including:
- Expansion in within the reseller community – AppAssure reseller community grew 100% in Q2 driven by AppAssure’s differentiated solution focused on application recovery.
- Product Development – To support the rapidly growing number of companies adopting virtualization technologies, AppAssure introduced advanced VMware vSphere support for private cloud providers and enterprises.
- Staff Expansion – During the quarter, AppAssure added over 50 employees to its team spanning the areas of sales, marketing, development and customer service.
- Awards – At the 2011 Microsoft TechEd conference, AppAssure was named a Best of TechEd finalist in the Backup and Disaster Recovery category.
"For too long, companies have been bound by costly data loss and hours or days of application down time inherent with traditional backup and recovery systems," said Najaf Husain, president and chief executive officer, AppAssure. "Our growth rate speaks to the end of antiquated backup and recovery technologies, and to the value of recovering in just minutes from any server failure with virtually no loss of mission critical application data. We expect to see accelerated growth throughout the second half of 2011 as companies look to private and public clouds infrastructures to reduce costs and improve application SLAs."
