CebaTech Changes Company Name to Altior

CebaTech, Inc., developer of network and storage embedded systems solutions, has changed its name to Altior, Inc.

Altior is Latin for Higher, which reflects the company’s progression from offering Intellectual Property (IP) cores to offering embedded solutions that significantly boost system performance.

Reflecting on the new name, the company is pleased to announce that a pioneer in WAN optimization market has selected Altior’s AltraFlex Platform Solution for their high-end network appliance.

Under the agreement, the customer will design-in the AltraFlex Platform Solution – an FPGA-based PCIe-enabled subsystem card. The design-win is based on results that enabled the customer to achieve enhanced performance that offers them significant competitive advantage. This included a reduction in CPU utilization, which resulted in a decrease of the number of CPU cores needed compared to the original design.

In addition, the AltraFlex Platform Solution decreased power consumption. With an immediate cost-savings in the Bill of Materials (BoM) due to reduced CPU core count, the AltraFlex Solution generated an immediate ROI. The decreased power consumption also made the AltraFlex Platform Solution a choice in the selection process. Other decisive factors included the solution’s ability to allow customers to implement instant, flexible, and cost-effective field upgrades without having to change hardware, and simultaneously easing the after sales service and support effort.

• AltraCores (formerly CebaRIP) are a solution for data networking and storage applications that are designed for maximum throughput. AltraCores are available for SoC, ASIC and FPGA designs, combining a minimal footprint with low power consumption. AltraCores are available for GZIP/GUNZIP Compression/Decompression, AES-XTS Encryption, SHA Hashing, MD5 Hashing, and LZRW3 Compression.
• AltraFlex (formerly CebaFlex) is a flexible hardware/software framework that simplifies and speeds the integration of IP into systems. AltraFlex allows the user to integrate various AltraCores into a single subsystem platform. These FPGA-based, PCI Express-enabled subsystems offload and accelerate computing-intensive protocols from the system CPU(s) boosting system performance. AltraFlex can also enhance the performance and functionality of existing systems through after-market installation and in-system reconfiguration.
