dataStor Shield Release Version 5.0.246.1.
With BMR, agentless deployment, source-based de-dupe
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 22, 2011 at 3:03 pmShield version 5.0.246.1. from datastor is available for existing dataStor clients with current support agreements, and all new dataStor customers in Australia, exclusively from T Data Pty Ltd.
Version 5.0.246.1. delivers some enhancements including new Complete System Protection, BMR, and P2V recovery options, adding to the core strengths of dataStor including integrated, source-based deduplication, and agentless deployment, and allowing the package to compete directly with more main-stream image based backup applications.
dataStor Shield is now a competitive backup solution for any Windows environment, key differentiators from competitive packages include:
- Patented Inbuilt source based deduplication that reduces the amount of disk space required to store your data on your / your client backup servers / devices, typically by around 50% (may vary depending on the type of data being backed up)
- Because the data is de-duplicated at the protected server, VM or workstation before any data is sent across the network, dataStor Shield can reduce network traffic and backup windows.
- dataStor does not require the installation of agents on protected machines, so it is easy to deploy and manage – updates only need to be installed on the management console
