Media Prima is recognized as Malaysia’s leading integrated media investment group. The storage systems will enable better collaboration between a large group of video editors, artists, producers and audio engineers. "We are thrilled that Media Prima has once again turned to EditShare to enhance expand its file-based workflows," says Paul Hayes, VP Sales and Marketing, EditShare Asia Pacific. "EditShare’s shared storage solutions include a sophisticated software toolset developed especially for managing large amounts of storage and users, and is particularly suited to all Media Prima’s production genres, including News, Sports, Current Affairs, Entertainment, Internet Video and Reality TV."
Media Prima installed two EditShare systems four years ago in its web/online department, Alt Media. Two years later, TV3 added more EditShare collaborative storage to service over 20 Final Cut Pro editing suites. The need to produce more content in HD has resulted in the recent acquisition by Media Prima of additional EditShare storage, proof of the advantages offered with file-based workflows and collaborative storage.
The newly added systems are servicing Media Prima’s content creation for TV3, 8TV, ntv7, and TV9. Media Prima has over 80 broadcast video editing suites, including Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro HD. Producers can also view low-resolution ‘proxy’ video versions of HD content at their own desks using EditShare’s Flow Browse, allowing them to efficiently log ingested material, as well as offering them pre-editing capabilities using only a desktop or notebook computer.
