SunGard Availability Services Chooses ScoutCloud by InMage
For next generation of server replication services
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 18, 2011 at 2:53 pmInMage announced that SunGard Availability Services has chosen its ScoutCloud platform to help bring the next generation of SunGard’s Server Replication services to market.
SunGard’s Server Replication services replicate customer data from virtual or physical systems to secure SunGard data centers. With the addition of ScoutCloud, SunGard will be able to provide increased benefits to customers in the way of built-in CDP and a broader range of data captured from the source.
"InMage is an ideal partner for SunGard’s Recovery Service offerings," said Michael de la Torre, vice president, recovery services product management at SunGard Availability Services. "Their technologies are well suited to meet our requirements as part of our cloud-based recovery services, strengthening our ability to assist IT organizations across all industry and government sectors to minimize downtime and mitigate risk. Most importantly, we expect the InMage partnership to bring increased benefits to our customers."
SunGard selected InMage’s ScoutCloud platform after a proof of concept process. ScoutCloud combines data protection, a physical-to-virtual and virtual-to-virtual recovery engine that supports failover/failback for all applications, and automated provisioning of virtual machines and associated storage. This enables near zero RPO and RTO capable Recovery as a Service (RaaS). ScoutCloud protects any customer server (physical or virtual) and can recover it nearly instantaneously as a VM in the cloud. It bundles P2V with remote replication, delivering application-consistent data availability and block-level continuous data protection with failover/failback for any application.
"Availability services are one of the fastest-growing IT markets, and SunGard has been leading the charge in this space for over 30 years," said Kumar Malavalli, Chairman of the Board, InMage. "This partnership is a great validation of InMage technology, and we are thrilled to be working with SunGard. With SunGard’s global reach, it will be easier than ever for businesses to leverage cloud-based services to accelerate their disaster recovery implementations, reduce their costs and bypass expensive, labor-intensive in-house implementations."
