Along with EMC storage
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 14, 2011 at 2:51 pmSunGard Availability Services announced that DocuSign, Inc., in electronic signature technology, has selected hosting and managed network services from SunGard to further enhance the security and reliability of the company’s global network. DocuSign will utilize one of SunGard’s data center facilities to accommodate the company’s growth.
DocuSign will leverage SunGard’s colocation services, Internet and private fiber network, and secure, PCI DSS-compliant facility along with EMC‘s infrastructure storage equipment for its third data center.
With SunGard’s broad footprint of 35 data centers, DocuSign is well-positioned to expand its global network to meet the electronic document and signature management needs of customers around the world, without incurring the capital and operating expenses of building and running its own data centers.
"We are proud of our track record of 99.99 percent availability," said Grant Peterson, chief technology officer at DocuSign. "Tripling our configuration will enable us to continue delivering the high level of security and reliability DocuSign customers have come to expect of us as we continue to grow rapidly. SunGard has proven to be a valuable partner, working to understand our business and designing a resilient, highly available solution to address our specific needs."
Once the new data center is in operation, DocuSign will have three geographically dispersed SSAE 16 Type II data centers providing a secure and scalable global electronic signature network. DocuSign sets itself apart in the industry segment by having a SSAE 16 Type II tested solution-which extends testing beyond the data center level to include the network, practices, policies and procedures of the entire organization. As a result, DocuSign has passed 100% of security audits with its Fortune 500 customers and the largest financial services institutions. SunGard’s security rules, policies and practices within its data centers are important to DocuSign, helping the company maintain its commitment to providing customers with an easy, fast, secure way to send, sign, track and store documents in the cloud.
"Signing a customer like DocuSign further demonstrates the return we are seeing in our investment in the quality of our data centers," said Michael Beck, senior vice president and general manager, Managed Services at SunGard Availability Services. "Our customers have indicated how our process-oriented delivery team brings great value by helping ensure their critical infrastructure is always on, keeping customers’ businesses in business. We are confident that we can help DocuSign realize these same benefits as a SunGard customer."
