"The DS2411+ prepares SMBs for tomorrow’s data growth and demanding workloads, allowing them to tap into additional resources as needed," said Chad Chiang, product manager of Synology Inc.

When paired with Synology DX1211, its expansion unit, the DS2411+ is expandable to 24 bays to accommodate businesses’ staggering data. Data throughput can be ensured with an InfiniBand cable that carries 12Gb/sec SATA signal when bridging a connection.

The DS2411+ comes with 2 LAN with failover and link aggregation support, delivering 167 MB/sec writing and 202 MB/sec reading speeds under RAID 5 configuration. Businesses can upgrade its 1GB RAM to 3GB to achieve efficient data sharing in stringent environments. Service uptime can be maximized with hot-swappable drive design.

Equipped with a 1.8GHz dual-core processor, the DS2411+ operates at 105W, whereas CPU underclocking and HDD suspension decrease its power consumption to 39W when it hibernates. It consumes up to 95% less power in deep sleep mode than in operation.

With iSCSI support, the DS2411+ can be integrated with major virtualization solutions, including VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer and Microsoft Hyper-V. In addition, the DS2411+ fits in a business environment with Windows ADS and ACL support.

The DS2411+ is powered by DiskStation Manager 3.1 (DSM 3.1), the operating system of every Synology DiskStation. DSM provides versatile features on a snappy, intuitive, and multitasking web-based user interface.

Synology DS2411+ and DX1211 are shipping.
