VirtualSharp Software announced ReliableDR 2.5, new version of its product.

The majority of businesses today do not perform DR tests on a sufficiently frequent basis, due to the human, technical and time resources such processes traditionally require. As a result many companies’ IT services and data might not be fully recoverable despite the existence of a DR plan. VirtualSharp ReliableDR 2.5 addresses this challenge by enabling organisations to automate DR testing to reduce the risk, cost and complexity associated with this practice. The solution also offers a real time, consolidated view into the recovery readiness of an IT environment to help enterprises ensure they are meeting compliance and IT governance requirements.

• The SLA compliance dashboard helps ensure IT service levels are always met: It provides in-house IT and managed service providers with a detailed, real time view of the recovery readiness of business-critical IT services. It also shows historical reporting of RPO and RTO SLA compliance and exceptions, which can be used for cross-charging, chargeback, management reporting and regulatory compliance purposes.
• Certified recovery point (CRP) retention policies provide disaster avoidance by maintaining multiple copies of business-critical applications and IT services at the DR site: These can be rolled back to a known-good point in time, at the push of a button.
• Host-based replication maximises efficiency as only the changed blocks within a VM are replicated: It also provides in-house IT and managed service providers with the ability to asynchronously replicate and failover applications and IT services from remote sites to a centralised datacentre, across any storage type, allowing them to make the most of the existing storage infrastructure. In other words it maximises storage capacity utilisation and lowers CAPEX, as there is no need to purchase new, matching storage arrays or additional SAN replication licences.
