Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
certification is an internationally recognized green building certification
system. Deployed as part of the Corus360 managed services infrastructure, the
Nexsan E60 serves as a primary end-user storage repository in the company’s LEED-certified Recovery Center.

The Corus360 facility boasts eco-friendly features such as occupancy-sensing
compact fluorescent lighting, water-saving plumbing, additional windows for
natural lighting, efficient AC units and a white roof that reflects rather than
absorbs sun rays. Recently, Corus360 was also a finalist for the Green
Save
award from the Atlanta Business Journal for executing sustainable
business practices within the company and was also honored in the Gwinnett
Sustainable Awards
by Gwinnett County, Ga., where its Recovery
Center is located.

"With more than two petabytes of data under management,
it is critical for Corus360 to utilize power-managed storage to maintain a
highly efficient power friendly technology infrastructure
," said Stephen
Jones, Chief Technologist, Corus360. "We have achieved this with Nexsan
E-Series storage solutions. With features such as AutoMAID, our company has
reduced total carbon emissions as much as 3.5 Billion BTU per year, receiving
30% in expenditure tax credits from the state. Additionally, our total annual
energy savings is $104,000 – real win for business and the
environment.
"

"With up to 85 percent energy savings, the Nexsan E60
is the ideal green storage system to maximize data center efficiency,
"
said Victoria Grey, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Nexsan. "The E60
incorporates everything we have learned about reducing the carbon footprint of
one of the largest power consumers in the data center – storage
hardware.
"

"Corus360 is committed to green building and the use of
highly efficient technology, and our new data center embodies that
commitment,
" said Bill Baron, Vice President, Sales, Corus360. "When
we learned about the Nexsan E60, we knew it was the right storage for our data
center. The incredibly energy efficient design provides the high-capacity we
require in a small form factor, bringing energy savings to the heart of our
service.
"

The Nexsan E60 is a member of the Flexible Storage
Platform
, a storage system
that accommodates 60 disks and provides up to 180TBs of storage in 4U. It combines SATA, SAS, and SSD drives to give IT administrators a high
degree of flexibility. The design of the E60 reduces the number of
components required to implement any given amount of storage, which results in reliability and lower power consumption. The product also employs
Nexsan’s AutoMAID Level 4 technology, which reduces energy costs by up to 85
percent.
