With HP 3Ppar arrays
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 13, 2011 at 3:10 pmViaWest, a privately held data center and managed services provider in North America, announced the addition of a new managed storage solution, the first service to be introduced under ViaWest’s KINECTed brand. The product portfolio features cloud-based storage and computing services for businesses of all sizes pursuing more efficient computing strategies.
KINECTed Storage features HP 3PAR storage arrays, which combine Fibre Channel with large SATA drives. Using dynamic file allocation with Fast RAID 5 technology, KINECTed storage can provision the files users access most for the fastest access and the files used least for maximum cost effectiveness.
Roy Dimoff, Chairman & CEO of ViaWest explains: "By combining dynamic file allocation with multiple storage technologies, KINECTed Storage gives customers an unbeatable combination of performance, management ease and low costs." Dimoff went on to explain: "KINECTed Storage helps companies avoid large capital expenditures on technology that can quickly become outdated."
Since being acquired by Oak Hill Capital Partners, ViaWest has been on a growth trajectory. In addition to introducing the KINECTed services portfolio, ViaWest recently opened the Hillsboro II data center in Portland, Oregon, as well as four other data centers in Utah under two separate acquisitions. This brings ViaWest’s total number of data centers to 21.
