This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 13, 2011 at 3:10 pmATTO Technology, Inc. has readied driver support for its 8Gb/s and 4Gb/s Celerity Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s ExpressSAS/SATA HBAs and RAID Adapters as well as its Ultra320 ExpressPCI SCSI line of HBAs for Mac OS X Lion.
ATTO provides a line of adapters that support the recently announced developer’s preview of the latest Apple operating system.
Mac OS X has long been the platform for creative professionals, and advancements in file sizes and project complexity have pushed users to grow their storage footprint exponentially. ATTO has proven to provide products powering high-performance audio and video workflow including 2 and 4K digital production, high-definition video editing and rich-content creation. End users have relied on ATTO’s technology to power the demanding applications in the media and entertainment world and those deploying the developer release can take advantage of the new drivers since June 10.
"The availability of these drivers reinforces ATTO’s commitment to the Apple market by delivering support for the newest developer’s preview of Apple’s operating system, OS X Lion. Mac users can now choose from a full spectrum of high-performance adapters for SCSI, Fibre Channel and SAS environments," said Wayne Arvidson, vice president of marketing at ATTO.
ATTO offers several software-based solutions for the Apple market also supporting the developer’s preview of OS X Lion. Xtend SAN software allows Mac users to garner the benefits of iSCSI, one of the fastest growing storage networking protocols. With iSCSI, users can take advantage of existing Ethernet expertise and equipment to benefit from a SAN. By installing the Xtend SAN iSCSI initiator on a Mac workstation, users can leverage key SAN applications such as collaborative digital video/audio workflows, laptop connectivity to SANs, and remote backups. In addition, ATTO offers Power Center software, a disk storage RAID application that allows users to maximize attached storage when using ATTO Celerity Fibre Channel, ExpressSAS/SATA and ExpressPCI SCSI HBAs and RAID Adapters.
"ATTO Technology continues to set the standard for high-performance network and storage connectivity," added Arvidson. "We are committed to delivering industry-leading solutions that meet our customers’ performance expectations and aggressive time-to-market requirements," added Arvidson.
