Reporting to Research Director Simon Robinson and working in conjunction with Senior Analyst Henry Baltazar, Mr. Simpson will cover storage issues affecting IT organizations. “Dave brings to 451 Research exactly the blend of capabilities that we look for in an analyst; extensive industry knowledge and insight coupled with the ability to communicate this insight through a range of research deliverables," said Mr. Robinson. "Dave’s appointment, together with the recent acquisition of TheInfoPro by The 451 Group, means we have more breadth and depth to our storage research than ever before."
"I’m very excited about joining The 451 Group and their great team of analysts," Simpson said. "I was particularly drawn to The 451 Group’s business model. Rather than pursuing a ‘pay-for-play’ model, The 451 Group’s focus is on providing objective, in-depth analysis of important technologies and trends to enable IT stakeholders – including suppliers, service providers, IT professionals and the investment community – to make more informed decisions. The 451 Group’s approach is similar to good journalism."
Mr. Simpson has been covering the IT industry for more than 25 years, focusing on the storage sector for the last 15 years. Prior to joining The 451 Group, Mr. Simpson was the Editor-in-Chief of InfoStor.com, a website focused 100% on the data storage market and targeting IT end users, storage channel professionals, vendors and investors. Prior to launching InfoStor in 1997, Mr. Simpson held senior editor positions at a number of publications, including Datamation, Client/Server Today, Digital News & Review, Systems Integration and Mini-Micro Systems.

Good luck Dave as analyst, hoping that you will not regret to be journalist, for me a more exciting - if less lucrative - job. Editor.
