Smartphone App for Accessing Seagate GoFlex Home Network Server

Seagate Technology LLC introduced the GoFlexAccess mobile device app for its GoFlex Home network storage system.

Now available for download from the iTunes Store  and Android Market,
this application can be found by searching for ‘Seagate’ or ‘GoFlex’ in
either storefront using your computer or the app store on your iPad ,
iPhone , iPod touch or Android compatible mobile device. The new
GoFlexAccess App delivers a way to retrieve photos, movies, music and
documents from anywhere while on-the-go with network access.

GoFlex Home network storage server is designed as a simple to set up
shared storage drive, which provides back up and sharing capabilities
within a home network and is also accessible using remote access from a
personal computer. Today, with the introduction of these new mobile
applications, GoFlex Home network drive has entered the world of mobile
connectivity. The iPad, iPhone and Android smart phones can now have
access to share terabytes of media which are stored on the home network.
Personal mobile technology devices are largely seen as products for
consumption of media and now this consumption can be extended to the
home network drive.

The benefits to having this network access:

• All of the shares on GoFlex Home, as well as all of the content
  stored elsewhere on the drive are now available from mobile devices;
• Create slide shows from photos in shares and play music at the same time to accompany it;
• Stream video to mobile devices over 3G/4G and WiFi;

back up files wirelessly from both Windows and Mac OS X operating
systems on the home network to and help safeguard digital memories for
the whole family. Families can also add more storage to the GoFlex Home
system by connecting additional drives to the USB port. Additionally,
this same USB port can be used to wirelessly share a USB printer with
every computer on the network.

The GoFlex Home network storage system can be purchased on Seagate.com
and select retailers for a suggested retail price of $159.99 for 1TB,
$209.99 for 2TB or $269.99 for 3TB. Firmware updates and the new
GoFlexAccess app are free for all GoFlex Home owners.
