Freecom Mobile Drive XXS Leather

Freecom, a Mitsubishi Kagaku Media company, launched the Mobile Drive XXS Leather, a compact, 2.5" mobile hard drive encased in a black leather enclosure. This latest addition to Freecom’s product range is a new incarnation of the Mobile Drive XXS and comes in storage capacities of up to 640GB.

With its black leather enclosure, the Mobile Drive XXS Leather is for the style-conscious home user and business professional who wants to back up data and carry it with them while on the move. With the USB 3.0 technology, the drive offers transfer speeds of approximately 130 MB/s – significantly faster than USB 2.0 alternatives – enabling users to back up and upload information faster.

For sharing documents at work or with family and friends, users can plug the Mobile Drive XXS Leather’s compact USB 3.0 cable into a port on any PC or Mac to share documents, photos, music or even videos wherever they are.  

The drive is USB bus powered, meaning no long cables or adapters that can clutter up users’ bags and desks.

The Mobile Drive XXS Leather measures just 11.3cm x 8.6cm x 1.2 cm and weighs 140 grams. The drive is FAT-32 pre-formatted for both PCs and Macs and comes with a Quick Install Guide and two years’ unlimited and free helpdesk support.

The new Mobile Drive XXS Leather is be available since the last week of February in the following capacities: 320/500/640GB. Higher capacities will follow as from mid 2011.
