Faster Dolly Drive, Online Backup for Apple Time Machine

Cloud services provider Cirrus Thinking announces the launch of version 1.2 of Dolly Drive, a cloud storage for Apple’s backup software Time Machine.

The version 1.2 upgrades give users faster upload speeds, increased stability, incremental cloning and up to 2 terabytes of storage with a seeding program.

Dolly Drive is an online storage service designed for the Apple community. In addition to seamless Time Machine integration, the application allows users to duplicate their entire computer on an external hard drive for speed recovery in the event of a hard drive failure or disaster. Launched in January, Dolly Drive was named MacLife magazine’s Best of Show and Best Software at MacWorld 2011.

"Our immediate goal after the launch was to have the upload experience match the ease of the product and in a very short time, we’ve done it," said Anthony Palermo, Chief Product Officer and CEO. "Our new data center infrastructure and multi-site grid network significantly upgrades Dolly Drive’s upload speeds, stability, and storage size capability, and our seeding program overcomes one of the great challenges of online backup – the lengthy initial upload."

Dolly Drive subscriptions can be purchased in packages from 50GB to 2TB for $5 to $55 per month which includes online storage, backup through Apple’s Time Machine, and software to create bootable clones on a local external hard drive.
