8Gb FC for Dynamic Solutions International DSI9000 VTL
Featuring de-dupe
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 26, 2011 at 3:10 pmDynamic Solutions International announced the availability of 8Gb Fibre Channel for its next-generation DSI9000 VTL offering featuring data de-duplication.
The DSI9000 Virtual Tape Library systems are scalable to fit the requirements of small businesses to enterprise-class cluster-based backup applications. The DSI9000 is part of an architecture featuring redundant components and an advanced user interface.
In addition, the DSI9000 VTL family is for users considering either iSCSI/IP or Fibre Channel (FC) solutions, and integrates into any existing storage network – with standard features that allow a user to copy directly to backend tape and optional features that provide data de-duplication, encryption and replication functionality.
Preserving the investment in backup policy, the DSI9000 VTL leverage high speed RAID disk arrays to provision virtual tape drives to backup servers that are attached to either an iSCSI/IP or FC storage area network (SAN). There is no need to change existing backup software configurations. Additionally, the DSI9000 VTL is certified with leading backup applications to maximize compatibility and ensure fast, seamless deployment.
"DSI continues to enhance our line of high performance backup and recovery solutions that are secure and can seamlessly integrate into users existing backup systems," said Chris Johnson, vice president of storage systems for DSI. "In addition to functionality like data de-duplication, backend tape copy, encryption, replication and scalability, DSI’s unique capabilities like our VTL Agent, Alert Manager and mainframe software make the DSI9000 family unmatched by any other solution in its class. Our new version of the DSI9000 VTL exceeds the requirements of data-intensive operations for a high speed, worry-free backup and restore."
