Bocada Extends Focus on MSPs
For Prism Data Protection Service Management software

The initiative is built in part on Bocada’s experiences and success with the MSPs who manage nearly 600,000 backup clients with Bocada solutions.
Bocada’s Prism solution guides MSPs through the DPSM model, a process of evaluating the backup environment, mapping data protection policies to the requirements of their client’s business and improving IT and operational alignment. Unlike standard error, trend or usage reporting solutions, Prism is able to show an MSP how an error or flaw in the data protection environment impacts the ability to adhere to an SLA, policy, or compliance objective, and then enables users to correct the error and meet the goal. This not only improves and streamlines service delivery; it ensures data recoverability, reduces risk and lowers overall data protection costs, with the end goal of customer retention and continued revenue stream for the MSP.
Prism also provides compliance, audit and capacity usage management, automatic chargeback/billing reports, and eliminates the burden of writing backup scripts. Customer capacity requirements can be reduced through eliminating redundant jobs and modifying backup policies, improving resource and media utilization.
Bocada already supports a range of backup applications and is developing additional plug-in support for targeted applications used by MSP/SaaS providers and providing integration with trouble-ticketing and PSA solutions to streamline service management operations. The application openness and alignment with MSP pricing models will help bring a new and more robust service platform to the MSP community.
