Taiwanese Factories to Reduce 20-30% DVD-R Output in 2011

Giant Base Technology Ltd., a Taiwanese CDR and DVD recordable media manufacturer, wrote the following letter:

Dear Customer,

How are you?

I was learned the top-tier Taiwanese factories like CMC, Ritek and Gigastorage are going to reduce 20-30% output quantity in 2011, while, BenQ Materials (renamed from Daxon Technology) has decided to stop production of optical discs to devote more resources to new product lines.

Therefore we believe DVD-R / CD-R supply will be shortage in coming months.

I urge you to review your stock level immediately, and please send me your order detail, so that I can reserve our production capacity to you.
