6G SAS/SATA RAID by Sans Digital at Up to 1GB/s

Sans Digital announced a line of 6G SAS/ SATA RAID storage rackmounts with SAS Expansion capability that utilizes the RAID processor from the included (HA-ARC-ARC1880X) hardware RAID controller.

Based on the EliteSTOR 6G SAS expander JBOD, the EliteSTOR ES208X6+BHA (2U 8-bay), ES316X6+BHA (3U 16-bay) and ES424X6+BHA (4U 24-bay) provide what the most current technology have to offer, such as the RAID-60 and up to 24Gb/s of bandwidth via a Mini-SAS cable plus 6Gbps SAS and SATA HDD support. The bundled RAID controller built-in hardware RAID engine is fast and helps to offload complex RAID algorithm calculations from the host computer/server processor.

Enterprise features such as remote management, critical event e-mail notification, and redundant power supplies all come standard with the ES316X6+BHA and ES424X6+BHA (optional for ES208X6+BHA).

Operating systems ranging from PC, Mac, Linux all the way to virtualization OS such as VMware ESX 4.0/4.1, Citrix XGen or Microsoft Hyper-V server are also supported.

In addition to performance, the ES208X6+BHA, ES316X6+BHA and ES424X6+BHA also allow users to daisy-chain multiple units together, supporting up to a maximum of 120 hard drives using a single RAID HBA. With support of the latest 3TB hard drives, this solution can support up to a total of 360TB raw capacity.
