FES Purchases Second Vblock Infrastructure Platform

MTI Technology announces that FES (Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH) has purchased its second Vblock Infrastructure Platform from VCE, The Virtual Computing Environment Company, to optimise their data centre and accelerate the effectiveness of their IT infrastructure.

The FES wanted to virtualise its services as far as possible and cut costs for hardware and operating systems. The implementation of the first Vblock Infrastructure Platform allowed FES to reduce their costs of power by 78 percent. Acceleration of their data flow is another factor for FES. The time for processes within the data centre was reduced by 62 percent. Once accomplishing these goals, FES wanted to go further and expand their virtualised infrastructure. By implementing a second Vblock Solution, the network will be completely scalable, flexible and redundant.

FES applies for the ‘Ökoprofit’ project this year, which has been carried out in Frankfurt am Main since 2009. This project provides companies with a way to adopt environmental and energy management systems. By implementing a second Vblock Solution, FES wants to continue their energy saving program and expand their position for an environmental friendly facility.
