Dot Hill AssuredSAN 3000 Tested With Quantum StorNext

For file sharing across multiple servers and operating environments

Dot Hill Systems Corp. has completed all testing of its AssuredSAN 3000 Series arrays for the StorNext Partner Self-Certification Program from Quantum Corp.

StorNext software is a file sharing and data protection application for applications that need to increase performance and productivity. The certification provides a tested solution that delivers high-speed, cost-efficient file sharing across multiple servers and operating environments.

"The StorNext File System is ideally suited for environments that must manage large files such as video, images, or other rich media content and access these files across multiple host systems," said Jim Jonez, senior director of marketing, Dot Hill. "Customers who need access to file-based content can confidently leverage the StorNext File System with high-performance, cost-effective Dot Hill AssuredSAN storage."

Customers in the media and entertainment industries, such as video post production houses, rely on Quantum StorNext as a multi-host file system to maximize the benefits of networked storage. Dot Hill AssuredSAN 3700 Series arrays, also a choice in these environments, provide up to 192TB of high speed 8Gb Fibre Channel storage that can be shared by multiple users for efficiency and workflow productivity. File sharing increases the number of projects that can be worked on simultaneously, resulting in more projects being completed on time.

Dot Hill AssuredSAN 3000 Series
Redefining Entry-Level Storage

Dot Hill AssuredSAN 3000 Series arrays offer support for 8Gb Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs), dual interface 8Gb Fibre Channel/1Gb iSCSI and 6Gb SAS-attached JBODs, along with optional Dot Hill AssuredRemote data management software for remote replication. Data management such as AssuredCopy, Dot Hill’s volume copy technology, enabling the creation of independent data volume copies for additional data protection, and Dot Hill’s AssuredSnap snapshot capability for data availability and business continuity, allow companies to reduce the burden of meeting modern data retention policies.

The AssuredSAN 3000 Series features eco-friendly enhancements such as drive-spin-down capability and 595-watt 80 PLUS-rated (greater than 80 percent energy efficiency) power supplies for reduced operating costs. Additionally, the AssuredSAN 3000 Series also features Dot Hill’s patented EcoStor ‘green’ battery-free alternative for cache memory, which leverages a combination of super capacitors and flash memory that outlasts traditional batteries nearly fivefold. Business benefits include lower maintenance and disposal costs and reduced server and application down time due to scheduled battery replacement and maintenance.
