Harriet Coverston, co-founder and CTO of Versity

New software company to address large scale archiving challenges

Harriet Coverston is the CTO of Versity, a software developper of large scale archiving software, she co-founded with Bruce Gilpin, CEO of the company.

Before Versity, Coverston spend several years at SUN Microsystems as distinguished engineer following the acquisition in 2001 of LSC Inc. LSC – Large Scale Configurations – was founded in 1986 and Coverston led the technology effort as vice-president of technology. LSC was the developper of SAM-QFS and QFS. Later Oracle acquired SUN in 2010.

She also worked at Control Data Corporation from 1974 to 1986 participating of the development of Cyber 205 Operating System and CDCNET. She started her career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 1967 working on CDC 7600 Livermore Timesharing System.
