ExaGrid Sales Grew 40% from 1Q10 to 1Q11

900 customers added in three months

ExaGrid Systems, Inc. announced that for its first fiscal quarter of 2011, sales grew by 40 percent over the same quarter for 2010. During the quarter the company expanded its customer base to more than 900 customers and gained significant new market share.

Along with sales growth, the company continued to execute in a variety of areas during the quarter.

Key achievements in Q1 2011 include the following:

  • Growing Global Market Share: With more than 900 customers, ExaGrid continued to grow its customer base and worldwide market share. ExaGrid has the industry’s largest installed base of GRID scalable disk backup appliances with data deduplication in mid-market and small enterprise companies, with more than 3,500 systems installed at more than 1,400 customer sites worldwide. Approximately 50 percent of ExaGrid’s customers have virtually eliminated tape in their storage environments using ExaGrid appliances for both onsite and offsite backups.
  • Industry Recognition and Leadership: During the quarter ExaGrid was named to the The Wall Street Journal‘s list of Top 50 Venture-Funded Companies. ExaGrid was the only Massachusetts-based company to make the list, and the only company in all of New England that was named.
  • Product Enhancements: ExaGrid added support for Veeam Software’s Backup and Replication application. With the latest enhancement, ExaGrid offers a capability for Veeam customers to instantly recover an entire virtual machine (VM), individual application objects and individual files from the same tested image-based backup. In addition, with the initial shipment of products based on an enhanced underlying architecture, ExaGrid delivers disk backup with deduplication appliances at a price equal to the cost of a new tape library plus onsite tapes.
  • 250 ExaGrid Customer Success Stories and Video Testimonials: Experiences with ExaGrid are published on the company’s website, including case studies from Boston Private Bank, Central Minnesota Credit Union, Chronicle of Higher Education, Prudential Douglas Elliman, Prestige Brands, U.S. House of Representatives, Vermont Electric Power, and Volkswagon Credit.
  • Worldwide Channel Growth: ExaGrid continued to grow its base of channel partners, including a number of regional value-added resellers. ExaGrid delivered a record 90% of the company’s business through channel partners and continued to scale its global channel sales model to meet business demands.
