Enhance Technology Certified With VMware ESX 4.1

Enhance Technology, Inc. announced its dual-active Fiber SAN storage UltraStor ES3160FS has passed VMware’s certification program for VMware ESX Server 4.1.

The combination of VMware’s storage virtualization and Enhance Technology’s dual-Active dual (2x) Fibre RAID protected storage system allow UltraStor users to reduce hardware costs while adding redundancy and enterprise data protection for a fraction of a typical SAN price.

VMware allows UltraStor customers to take advantage of ES3160FS’s strengths and capabilities with low energy consumption, near-zero downtime, simplified storage management, and flexible and scalable network storage environment for enterprise and SMB. VMware requires fewer servers which help UltraStor ES3160FS customers lower their operating cost and energy usage directly contributing to increase productivity and profitability. VMware supports a variety of operating systems for use on most applications and its VMotion feature also provides live migration of virtual machines in the event of an unexpected computer failure, thus providing a robust server and network environment.

The UltraStor ES3160FS is equipped with dual active RAID controllers for data protection and availability. Utilizing sixteen (16x) hot-swappable disk drives, the ES3160FS can host up to 32TB of storage capacity and scales up to 128TB (Raw) with 3x ES3160JS JBOD storage arrays and SAS HDDs. Besides VMware storage virtualization, Enhance Technology is striving to broaden its initiative on implementation of green technologies with features like auto disk spin-down, field replaceable component modules, and energy efficient 80 PLUS power supplies.
