This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 27, 2011 at 3:14 pmEmulex Corporation announced that Mark Jones, director of technical marketing at Emulex, has been named Vice Chairman of the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA), a non-profit international organization of manufacturers, systems integrators and vendors.
In this role, Jones will help the FCIA broaden the market for Fibre Channel products by aiding with market development, education, standards monitoring and fostering interoperability among member products.
"The FCIA plays a critical role in educating and guiding the growing storage networking market," said Shaun Walsh, vice president of marketing, Emulex. "Mark Jones’ leadership with the FCIA, coupled with his in-depth expertise and hands-on experience in the industry, will ensure that the organization can continue to support and drive Fibre Channel investments and education for technology providers and end-users."
Mark Jones has more than 25 years of experience in the enterprise server and storage industry. He joined Emulex in 2002 and serves as director of technical marketing for Emulex’s portfolio of Fibre Channel, Ethernet and iSCSI connectivity solutions. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.
