Asigra Helps DMGT Pensions for Backup Without Tape
Through partner Databarracks
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 26, 2011 at 3:05 pmAsigra, Inc. announced details of its work alongside partner Databarracks to help DMGT Pensions for its backup system and move away from its old tape-based structure.
The company’s 1TB of data is now backed up using Asigra Cloud Backup, and recovery has been sped up; restores that were taking an entire day are now being done in a matter of a couple of hours. It is hoped that recovery times will be further slashed once the team’s virtualisation plans are completed; Asigra Cloud Backup has the potential to grow and develop dynamically with the company’s future IT plans. DMGT achieves better business outcomes by focussing on helping members of the Daily Mail and General Trust plc pension scheme, instead of being distracted by technology.
Data such as SQL, payroll and pension administration is a priority for the firm, and Asigra Cloud Backup’s reliability and appealing financial advantages, alongside a support network provided by Databarracks, proved the fit for DMGT. The solution’s ability to keep critical data secure and the provision of a dedicated support network were important factors when looking for a new backup system, alongside a tested method of recovery with full documentation.
Harish Patel, head of IT at DMGT says: "We chose Asigra Cloud Backup from Databarracks as we found the solution was proven and the team are very professional. I believe they understand related issues from a client perspective and we have experienced fantastic support throughout the whole operation."
Peter Groucutt, Managing Director at Databarracks is happy to have provided the firm with just the solution for their needs: "Tapes no longer need to be requested and brought in from the company HQ; recovery of files is now quick and easy, and we are always on hand to provide assistance should there be any questions."
Ashar Baig, Senior Director of Product Marketing at Asigra, adds: "By leveraging data recovery and backup plans to cloud experts, DMGT has taken away much of the worrying about its strategy, allowing highly skilled IT pros to support pension advisors to focus on managing the pensions of more than 20,000 members of the Daily Mail and General Trust plc pension scheme to achieve better business outcomes."
