Second Version of Sand Technology Native Connector

SAND Technology Inc. announced the availability of the second version of SAND native connector for SAS.

Based on SAND Analytics’ patented column database technology, SAND v2 for SAS efficiently stores and manages the large amounts of supporting data kept in SAS data sets, flat files, and databases, delivering information on-demand for ad hoc analytics in SAS.

"The latest version of SAND for SAS introduces centralized management of SAS data sets enabling enterprises to define their data retention policies, insure regulatory compliance, and improve performance. Direct integration with SAS delivers immediate access for SAS analysts, and results can be migrated for collaborative work, or stored for specific retention periods using the SAND for SAS plugin for SAS Enterprise Guide."

SAND for SAS is natively integrated with the SAS environment. Data is saved with definitions extracted from SAS, and can be accessed using DATA steps or PROC statements. SAND supports automation of data migration and lifecycle management processes based on relevant business rules, and uses advanced data encryption algorithms to ensure protection of data privacy. SAND’s data storage requirements are typically 10% of flat file size, and the system can scale linearly using commodity hardware to support any volume of data.
