Apace FileManager Web-Based Software

Consolidates workspace content on Apace storage platforms.

Apace Systems Corporation, a media workflow, management and storage solution provider for media content creation, distribution and archive, announces the availability of FileManager, a web-based storage management software to consolidate video and other media workspaces on Apace’s media storage platforms.

Target market of Apace’s FileManager enabled storage clusters, is scalable storage pools for private media cloud deployments. As media objects need media asset management, the workspaces and the media file that represents the media need a different management tool beyond what a system’s Operating Systems can offer. As media data exponentially grows, heterogeneous scalability of storage systems becomes a requirement. FileManager offers workspace level management to best utilize storage pools as it relates to media file workspace structure, in terms of workspace location, mirroring, validated transport, aging, profiling and load balanced access.

FileManager (FM) serves as yet another Apace workflow tool to offer a single web GUI view of all content at intra-system and inter-system level of Apace Storage Server clusters and offer heterogeneous storage management for data access, presentation, profiling and large dataset migration/validation at the workspace, folder and file levels.

Paired with new Apace vStor v4000 hybrid SSD- and HDD-based storage arrays, FM can automate data sync and transport of content between SSD and HDD pools within a system and in between multiple units. FM assures peer to peer transfer between storage platforms for offload, backup, restore and mirroring of critical media workspaces.

FM can be paired with Apace’s Camera Ingest, Storage Consolidation, Media Asset Management (MAM), Distribution and Tape/library Archive tools. As Apace Media Ingester presents XDCAM, P2, AF100, GFCAM cameras ingestage footage, FM enables policies to best manage and pack ingested media for editing and cataloging on Apace’s storage. As Apace Octopa consolidates 3rd party storage silos such as ISIS, XSAN and any SAN, NAS or DAS into the Apace storage, FM further administers the control of landed data on Apace storage per user access needs. Apace MAM and scene level video-marking tools, paired with FM, assure better policies for load-balancing of content for search and IP play-out.

As a result of FileManager functionality, as the storage cluster pool grows, the complexity of managing the media data is kept at bay assuring ROI with growth.

Apace Systems showcased its technology at NAB 2011.
