CharTec Completes Integration of BDR Backup DR Appliance

CharTec, SMB channel’s Hardware as a Service/sales training provider, has completed integration of its CharTec BDR (Backup and Disaster Recovery) appliance with ConnectWise, a business management solution designed for IT service providers, VARs and MSPs.

CharTec’s BDR appliance provides real-time onsite data protection as well as offsite data continuity via cloud storage, while nightly self testing proves backups are successful. MSPs remotely manage CharTec BDR through a web-based portal with an RMM (Remote Monitoring Management) agent for alerting and scripting. The customer or IT service company can initiate restore of any backup image, any time.

With CharTec’s new BDR integration, MSPs can import backup statistics into their ConnectWise and use this information in reports which benefit their billing system. These reports help create invoices reflecting up to the minute off-site stored capacity costs. Reports show backup success/failure, systems and partitions being protected, and create a ticket that appears not only in the partners’ dashboard, but in CharTec’s as well.

In addition, CharTec will also be able to track the same statistics for its MSP partners using ConnectWise to provide a status overview of all their BDR systems in use.

CharTec will also be making some significant improvements to the BDR Appliances in mid Q2.

Some of these improvements include:

• Software upgrades to allow most servers to be virtualized in less than 30 minutes
• Upgrading to the latest version of StorageCraft
• Improving/upgrading hardware specs
• New web interface with detailed reporting
