Axxana Phoenix System RP Supports VCE Vblock

For synchronous data protection over any distance

Axxana announced support of the Virtual Computing Environment coalition (VCE) Vblock Infrastructure Packages. Axxana’s Phoenix System RP is now compatible with Vblock 1 and Vblock 0, making data protection for the private cloud reliable and affordable for companies of all sizes.

Vblock Infrastructure Packages are integrated IT offerings from Cisco, EMC, and VMware that combine networking, computing, storage, security, and management solutions. Vblock 1 delivers performance and virtualization for large or midsized companies and is suitable for data centers of any size, including remote-office locations. Vblock 0 is a platform for companies that are in search of an entry-level configuration for small data centers or remote locations.

Many businesses today are grappling with data growth and are turning to cloud environments for efficient data management. While the cloud offers benefits such as scalability, flexibility and affordability, it also introduces challenges related to data protection and reliability. Axxana’s Phoenix System RP addresses these challenges and provides data protection for the cloud.

"With virtualization becoming more and more prevalent, data protection strategies are even more imperative," said Eli Efrat, Axxana’s CEO. "Axxana’s solution for VCE’s Vblock delivers a level of cloud data protection, be it private or public clouds, that is unmatched in the industry today, while reducing capital and operational expenditures."

Axxana’s Vblock-compatible solution consists of EMC’s RecoverPoint and Axxana’s Phoenix System, providing synchronous replication over asynchronous communications infrastructure. Customers can now achieve synchronous replication and zero data loss over existing IP lines, no matter what the distance is between their data centers – whether it’s as short as several miles or as long as thousands of miles. This approach offers a tremendous cost advantage over existing disaster recovery options.
