ArchiveOne Cloud DR provides secure archiving while retaining access to mission-critical files in instances of local outage or failure due to natural disasters, extreme weather, data corruption or sabotage, without an investment in expensive software, hardware or high-end connectivity.

Established in 1972, Employment Hamilton has helped more than 50,000 people find work, receive training or return to school. With copious amounts of personal data required as part of the job application process, Employment Hamilton had to ensure information is protected against unauthorized access, disclosure or misuse. Personal information must be retained while an individual is a client of Employment Hamilton and a period of time following, as stipulated by its funding contracts. Then the information must be securely destroyed.

As part of Employment Hamilton’s overall compliance plans, they needed a way to ensure that operations would continue to run even in case of disaster. Employment Hamilton required an email archive solution that would allow them to copy away all emails relating to subjects, departments or individuals before anyone has a chance to manipulate or delete the information, providing a fully secure and audited record of email activity. These saved messages needed to be stored in a secure format and must be able to be retrieved as and when they are needed.

After being presented with several options from leading North American provider of IT solutions and services, Softchoice, Employment Hamilton turned to C2C for a best-practices approach to data retention and email management. C2C provides secure archiving while access is retained to mission-critical files in instances of local outage or failure due to natural disasters, extreme weather, data corruption or sabotage, without an additional investment in expensive software, hardware or high-end connectivity. C2C’s ArchiveOne provided them with full feature archiving as well as two Cloud options, Cloud Storage for storing all data and CloudDR for storing a disaster recovery copy of data in the Cloud. Employment Hamilton chose the latter. This gives them fast, immediate access to all data, but they no longer have to worry about off-site storage or backup as CloudDR automatically copies all data to a Cloud storage location.

ArchiveOne ensures that both the on-premise cache copy and Cloud repositories are synchronized. Should the on-premise version be lost for any reason, recovery from the Cloud version is straightforward. CloudDR reduces the complexity and costs typically involved with incorporating a sound DR strategy for archived data while complying with internal and regulatory compliance policies, regarding the use, access and retention of critical data.

"We are very happy that we now have a searchable email archive, complete with disaster control, secure infrastructure, and reliable service and support," said Executive Director, Angela Eckart of Employment Hamilton. "C2C’s  CloudDR allows our employees to have complete access to their email archives from Outlook or web browsers, even in case of disaster, providing us with peace of mind knowing that we’ll always be available to help job seekers in our community."

Whether data is the local cache copy or on the cloud, Employment Hamilton’s staff has continuous access to archived messages via a web interface or through their inbox, ensuring that they never have to worry about losing data.

"Ensuring continued access to and recoverability of mission-critical email files in case of disaster is not only a necessity but often complex and expensive," said Dave Hunt, CEO of C2C. "Cloud DR is a more reliable, efficient and affordable alternative to traditional disaster recovery solutions that require hardware, software and management costs to transport physical backups of data offsite."
