This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 28, 2011 at 2:51 pmOfficeDrop announced upgrades to ScanDrop for Mac, its scanning software that digitizes and organizes documents directly to the cloud or a Mac’s local disk.
ScanDrop for Mac can now scan to Dropbox, in addition to cloud filing systems including Evernote, Google Docs and OfficeDrop Online. In addition, ScanDrop for Mac is now compatible with Google Docs OCR, which allows users to automatically convert uploaded images, documents and PDF files to editable, searchable text.
"ScanDrop for Mac makes getting organized easy. Users can select the exact folders, notebooks, labels or tags for their documents at the moment they’re scanned, and then choose the right destination from their cloud storage provider of choice," said OfficeDrop Co-Founder and CEO Prasad Thammineni. "We’re committed to bridging the gap between paper and the cloud, saving businesses valuable time by making it easier to sort, search, edit and collaborate on their files online."
ScanDrop for Mac enables businesses to de-clutter office paperwork by creating digital copies through its scanning software, and then organize these files either locally or within cloud services. Once a document is scanned, users can delete or reorder pages before tagging and organizing the digital files. Its redesigned and simplified cloud storage selector makes it easy to choose the destination where users want to scan, share and collaborate on documents.
ScanDrop works with nearly every scanning device, and now features greater compatibility with Canon scanners. The software can be installed and connected in minutes. Download ScanDrop for Mac at the Mac App store.
ScanDrop for Windows is also available for download on the OfficeDrop web site.
