Australian Backup Provider Corporate Uses Robobak

Corporate Backup, an Australian based offsite backup provider, has been using the ROBOBAK data protection suite to protect businesses and home user data from computer crashes, viruses, theft and more recently from a string of violent natural disasters for the past three years.

"We used to ask our clients to back up their data on tape, then move it offsite. We found that the rate of getting them to actually do it was abysmal," said Kevin. "And most of our clients aren’t large enough to justify having a service come by to pick up their tapes. Even if they were, sending the tapes off to a secret location somewhere means losing their data for at least a day, if not more," he added.

Kevin anticipates that it will quadruple its data protection business over the next 18 months, and predicts country-wide growth through a Wholesale arm tailored primarily to IT Consultants and corporate customers. "ROBOBAK is a hands-free, set it and forget it solution," Kevin said. "And as we grow, I know it will scale without requiring us to add additional hardware, or disrupt our service to our customers. We couldn’t offer this service to our customers if we needed to do the usual hand-holding required by other software products."
