Jennifer Sullivan VP Marketing, Nasuni
Served at Ounce Labs and Unica, acquired by IBM
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 14, 2011 at 3:21 pmNasuni Corp. has expanded its management team with the addition of Jennifer Sullivan as the company’s vice president of marketing. The expansion follows a year of growth for Nasuni and a strong fourth quarter in which the company expanded its customer base by 200 percent, adding customers from a wide range of vertical industries such as manufacturing, engineering and architecture, law, education and healthcare.
At Nasuni, Sullivan will work collaboratively with sales, business development and engineering to create data-driven marketing strategies that accelerate customer demand. With two decades of experience in technology marketing, Sullivan has served in a wide variety of organizations, from large established companies such as IBM and RSA Security, to several venture-backed, fast growing startups.
"I thrive on tackling the challenges of young, high-performance companies like Nasuni," Sullivan said. "My primary goal is always to translate innovative technology into accessible messages that immediately communicate business value to potential customers. What attracted me to Nasuni was the team, the Founders and Board, and the capability of the Nasuni Filer to take full advantage of what will clearly be a transformative technology, but do so in a way that makes the entire process so simple for end-users. Through an easy download process, it just takes minutes to start reaping the benefits of cloud storage and with the Nasuni Filer the ripple effect of managing storage is greatly simplified and reduced for IT."
Immediately prior to joining Nasuni, Sullivan served as CMO at Ounce Labs, an enterprise application security company that IBM acquired in 2009. While there, she orchestrated a rebrand of the company, taking it from an organization that sold to software developers to one that focused on business-line managers and the C-suite. She also led a successful effort to raise the company’s profile among senior business leadership, which resulted in coverage by publications such as BusinessWeek, Forbes and USA Today.
Prior to her work with Ounce, Jennifer was VP of demand generation, business development and operations at Plateau Systems, a talent management software company. She held a similar role at Unica, a marketing software solutions company that IBM acquired in 2010, arriving when the company had a single product and growing demand across its expanding product suite during her tenure. Her work at Unica also included support of several acquisitions and a successful IPO.
"Businesses are clearly beginning to see the advantages of storage-as-a-service and the benefits of the cloud," said Andres Rodriguez, CEO of Nasuni. "Last year exceeded our expectations, and to continue and further accelerate our growth, it was obvious that we needed to add a strong, visionary marketing professional to the leadership team. Jennifer’s success in speeding the growth of venture backed startups, and her deep experience within the tech industry as a whole, identified her as the kind of leader we wanted to bring on board."
Sullivan holds a master’s degree in business administration, entrepreneurial and international studies, magna cum laude, from Babson College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations, cum laude, from Boston University.
