Open-E NAS Failover ($840)
Option for Data Storage Software V6
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 11, 2011 at 2:44 pmOpen-E, Inc. brings to market Automatic NAS (NFS) Failover for its Data Storage Software (DSS) V6.
High availability is crucial to many applications. Despite using high-quality hardware and superior connections, any node (network, server, storage equipment, etc.) is still potentially subject to failures which can result in the loss of all active connections, data transactions or even service.
In this case an automatic failover is essential for smooth operation within a data center. It works by sensing the failure of the primary node. Redundant nodes can continue serving clients, effectively replacing the missing node(s). An automatic Failover does not require tech team deployment or administrator approval to ensure continued operation.
With Automatic NAS Failover Open-E DSS V6 now offers NAS users an improvement in functionality, making a performing andcost-effective storage operating system.
"We are very proud to offer our customers this new software functionality", states Krzysztof Franek, president and CEO of Open-E. "The development of NAS Failover was a logical follow-on to our already existing iSCSI Failover."
Full version users of Open-E DSS V6 can extend the functionality of their product with the Feature Pack NAS (NFS) Failover from Open-E.
