Can restart PC from external USK key.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 25, 2011 at 3:03 pmCMS Products, Inc. announced a new version of its BounceBack Ultimate disaster recovery software.
With BounceBack Ultimate 11, users can gain use of their Windows computer in the event of a catastrophic hard drive crash or serious virus infection by restarting the system. The recovery is accomplished via BounceBack’s patent-pending ability to start up a computer directly from the backup data stored on an external, attached USB hard drive. This backup data includes the Windows operating system, applications, Internet settings and all user data.
"With BounceBack Ultimate 11 computer users can operate with complete confidence that not only is their important data backed up, but that they also have the equivalent of a ‘digital spare tire’ which can be used to startup their Windows computer in the event of a system hard drive crash or a malicious virus attack," said CMS Products president Ken Burke. "This ability to simply restart a computer from an external USB hard drive ensures that users have the important functions they typically use when working on the computer. The computer remains fully functional – with no restore activity required – because the user simply reboots (restarts) using the attached external USB hard drive. Users can experience normal computer function in only the time it takes to reboot the system. Later, when it is convenient, users can use BounceBack Ultimate 11’s built-in QuickRestore functionality to re-image the internal system hard drive back to working order."
BounceBack Ultimate 11 supports Windows 7, Vista and XP. Also improved in this version is parallel path backup, allowing data to be backed up simultaneously to two locations at the same time. This is a complement to today’s Network Attached Storage devices, or to multiple direct attached devices such as hard drives or flash drives.
