Atto Releases ExpressSAS 6Gb RAID Adapter V2.10

No-charge upgrade, +60% R/W performance

ATTO Technology, Inc. announce the ExpressSAS 6G RAID v2.10, which is a no-charge upgrade.

New functionality has be added to the 6Gb line of ExpressSAS RAID adapters with driver and firmware updates. This release has performance improvements in different typical customer scenarios (SAS, SATA, Reads, Writes, MB/s, IOPS, CacheAssure, etc.), along with other improvements, which are sure to enhance the end users overall experience with ATTO 6Gb RAID Adapters.

Main changes are:

Improved Performance
Enhancements in the firmware enables reads and writes to be up to 60% higher than the previously 2.05 released version. Customers will realize performance increases and run more streams of video, and process data quicker with this version of software.

SAS Multiplexing
Implemented SAS multiplexing to increase performance using 6Gb RAID with 3Gb drives. Provides end users the ability to realize performance increases, even if they do not have the most recent (6Gb) drives.

CacheAssure Performance
Through testing, ATTO was able to provide the best scenarios to increase performance using CacheAssure in the High-Protection mode. By implementing NCQ, end users will realize significant performance increases even when not in high performance mode. Performance can still be achieved without sacrificing security/protection.

Port Multiplier Compatibility
Tested and proved 6Gb RAID drives with Marvell’s Port Multipliers. Cost savings for systems can be realized with using the up and coming, new technology of Port Multipliers, in place of a higher priced expander alternative.

The release of the ESAS  RAID Adapter products is comprised of the following:

  • Flashbundle 2011_02_11
  • BIOS driver version 3.01
  • Linux driver version 2.05
  • Mac OSX driver version 2.05
  • Windows driver version 2.05
