Iron Mountain Connected Backup 8.5

Iron Mountain announced Connected Backup 8.5, the latest release of its data protection solution.

It offers support for Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 which allows enterprises to migrate their backup data from a 32-bit to a 64-bit architecture and benefit from memory and performance enhancements. An integrated tool eases data migration for single and mirrored systems as well as clustered environments. Connected Backup 8.5 supports 32-bit and 64-bit environments, thus enabling step-by-step data migrations. Customers holding an active licence contract gain immediate access to the new release which will also be available as a leased service shortly.

Iron Mountain’s Connected Backup offers automated online backup and protection for PC, Mac and laptop data. Advanced encryption and management functionalities available today ensure that confidential data is protected anytime whether during transfer for backup purposes, at rest at the customer’s site, or in one of Iron Mountain’s maximum-security data centres.

• Lotus Notes 8.5.1 .NSF files
• Mac OS/X 10.6.x
• Firefox 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0

Additional features of 8.5 enhance the solution’s usability, including ‘Pool Purge’ to delete a complete backup pool and new templates that simplify reporting.
