Deborah MacCallum VP Engineering, Pivot3

Most recently EMC senior director of software engineering

Pivot3, Inc. has appointed Deborah MacCallum as its Vice President of Engineering.

deborah_maccallum_pivot3 MacCallum, who reports directly to Pivot3 CEO Bob Fernander, has more than 25 years of experience in information technology. As Vice President of Engineering, she will drive product strategy and development of the Pivot3 suite of storage appliances.

MacCullum joins a growing executive management team at Pivot3. The company also recently announced Curt Wittich as Vice President of Sales, Katy Murray as Chief Financial Officer, and Dieter Kondek as Vice President of Sales, EMEA. The experienced team strengthens the company’s long term plans to expand into new markets and continue to double sales year after year.

MacCallum most recently served as Senior Director of Software Engineering for EMC, where she was responsible for overseeing strategic product strategies in network server and storage solutions. She also worked alongside product management and executive staffs to support the development of cloud-based systems. Prior to EMC, MacCallum was Vice President of Engineering and Support for Voyence, which was acquired by EMC, and also served as Vice President of Development and Co-Founder at SilverBack Technologies, which was purchased by Dell.

MacCallum’s other experience includes as director of remote management services at Nortel Networks, manager of testing and development at Bay Networks, and senior engineer at Raytheon. MacCallum also held the position of senior engineer at Intermetrics, where she was responsible for the design and development of the Space Shuttle Data Management capabilities and she holds three U.S. patents.

"Deborah’s experience at Silverback, Voyence and EMC will prove significant in developing a next generation scale-out application platform at Pivot3," Fernander said. "Her proven success in leading development within growth companies makes her a key asset to the Pivot3 executive team."
