At Broadcast Video Expo in UK

Global Distribution, a value-added, distributor of data storage within audio/video, post-production and broadcast markets, will cement its new partnerships with ATOMOS and Atempo with demonstrations of the newly-released ATOMOS Ninja portable Apple ProRes recorder and the Atempo Digital Archive archiving and workflow solution (ADA), at Broadcast Video Expo, London, which runs from 15-17 February 2011.

Global Distribution was recently named as the exclusive distributor of the Ninja product for the UK and Scandinavia, and as exclusive UK distributor for ADA. The Ninja saves production time and money by bypassing in-camera video compression to record real-time, 10-bit uncompressed images straight from the HDMI connector of DSLRs or video camcorders directly to Apple ProRes. ADA is an archiving and workflow solution designed to move data-intensive project content from primary storage to near-line and deep archival storage.

At BVE 2011 Global will also demonstrate storage and infrastructure solutions from manufacturers including Active Storage, ATTO Technology, Cache-A, Glyph, G-Technology, IDS by IPE and Spectra Logic, as well as Global’s own Infinity range powered by Atempo and XenData.

Keith Warburton, Director, Global Distribution, said: "Broadcast Video Expo has proved to be a must-attend show for us to demonstrate new technologies from our industry leading manufacturers to both existing and new customers, and to discuss how workflows can be improved cost-effectively. With fully digital workflows now being the industry standard and 3D being the new trend, storage data rates, asset management and content archival are three important areas Global is focused on. This year we are delighted to be able to showcase the Ninja, which will truly change digital video production by empowering professionals to effortlessly go straight from camera lens to edit suite – with visually loss-less compression courtesy of Apple’s ProRes codec."
