Hong Kong-Based Atomos Distributed by Global Distribution

Global Distribution, distributor of storage and infrastructure solutions, has entered into a distribution agreement with ATOMOS, developer of digital video solutions, to distribute the Ninja, a portable HDMI to Apple ProRes recording device which will be available in early February. Global Distribution will be the exclusive distributor for the UK and Scandinavia.

Ninja, which received Apple’s stamp of approval for its implementation of Apple ProRes, saves production time and money by bypassing the in-camera video compression allowing real-time, 10-bit uncompressed recording straight from the HDMI connector of DSLRs or camcorders directly to Apple ProRes. The ATOMOS Ninja is small and lightweight yet rugged, and is operated by a hi-resolution touch screen monitor with four main functions: Record, Stop, Monitor and Play. It includes two hot-swappable 2.5" hard drive caddies capable of holding up to 750GB capacity HDD’s or smaller capacity SSD for more rugged applications, and has a unique hot-swappable dual battery system using common Sony style DV batteries allowing fast interchange and extended battery life during the most demanding schedules.

Global Distribution will add further value to their channel by offering bundled HDD drives of 500GB and 750GB in capacity along with SSD options backed up by Global’s renowned aftersales support.
