Arena Releasing Nova 8G FC RAID Subsystem

MaxTronic International Co., Ltd. announced the NOVA series of enterprise-class storage solutions. This series covers 8Gb FC, 6Gb SAS and 10Gb iSCSI solutions, incorporates the Power PC 460SX processor, delivering an increase in performance and availability.

The first release on Nova 8G series increases the performance up to 2x more than previous generations. The eco friendly features including battery free cache backup module, 80% efficient power consumption, smart cooling mechanism and disk standby functions. The enterprise level features with remote replication and array based snapshot designing for mission critical environment make it the solution balance performance, scalability, capacity and availability, at affordable cost.

Nova 8G FC is a SAN ready storage solution tailored for multi-streams, multi-clients, uncompressed SD/HD/2K real time production workflow at digital content creation industry. The high I/O performance and high capacity scalability, would allow managing redundancy and provisioning virtualization environment, for mid to large organizations’ on-line data access and backup.

Nova 8G Series Feature:    

• High Performance: The Nova 8G series deliver faster performance, 2x increase on previous products. The 8Gb host to 6Gb SAS disk interface and PCIe 2.0 internal bus architecture enabling users to upgrade to more complicated and larger applications with better performance.
• Scalability: Internal SAS expanders enable easy to connect another SAS 6Gb JBOD enclosures scalable up to 120 drives.
• Embedded Snapshot: Block level snapshot embedded at the array F/W to leverage the computing power of the RAID system with less performance impact, allowing users to restore data by rolling back the previous shot.
• Local/Remote Replication: Hybrid controller (FC + iSCSI) and array based local/remote replication feature allowing data synchronization via embedded iSCSI ports, through area network or internet.
• Easy Configuration: Easy management interface with quick setup procedure help non-technical users to setup a R5 or R6 configuration in 2 steps.

The Nova series would be available in Q1, 2011.
